Brandon Tate

  • With well over a decade of experience in the Startup-biotech space, Brandon switched focus 6 years ago towards the Canadian Cannabis Industry.


    His specialties import/export, leading strategic regulatory affairs initiatives, quality management implementation/administration, project management,
    customer care, supplier management, and process improvements. He has a strong history of RA/QA/QC/audit team development and strategic leadership, ISO/FDA/GPP/GMP/HACCP/IMC-GAP compliance, and international quality management.


    Brandon played a role in Canada’s largest biotech IPO, raising $130M & yielding a market cap of $550M, where his QA/QC process improvements assisted in enabling a global production capacity expansion from 20M lbs per annum to 250M lbs per annum over 18 months.



  • Most notably, He was the key individual in the acquisition and compliant maintenance of Thrive Cannabis' Recreational/Medical Sales, Outdoor Grow, and Research and Development Licenses as well as multiple successful Cannabis exports to various Countries. He initiated, lead, and achieved the World's first issued Cannabis Farmgate Retail License. Him and his team played a key role in the establishment, development, and commercialization
    of Thrive Cannabis' premium, award winning, internationally recognized brands and associated product lines, Greybeard Cannabis and Being Cannabis.

  • Brandon currently holds the position of Vice-Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the C45 Quality Association, which represent over 100 quality assurance and regulatory affairs professionals in the cannabis industry.


    Since the 68M$ acquisition of Thrive Cannabis, Brandon and team have started three companies within the cannabis sector; BTAB Solutions Inc., BT Solutions Inc., and Lineage Industrial Technologies Inc.

Johanna Tate

  • Johanna Tate is a distinguished professional in the field of Chemical and Materials Engineering, holding advanced degrees in both disciplines. With over 6 years of specialization within the cannabis industry, Johanna boasts a robust scientific background. During her tenure at Thrive Cannabis, she played a pivotal role in managing the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs division, overseeing new product commercialization, and ensuring compliance. Additionally, Johanna was instrumental in initiating Thrive Cannabis' extraction/processing operations.


  • Her expertise extends to various Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, coupled with an in-depth understanding of cannabis industry operations. Johanna excels in business consulting, leveraging her deep industry knowledge and data analysis skills to provide valuable insights and recommendations

  • She has consulted for numerous large enterprises in areas such as Canadian Good Production Practices (GPP) and ISO certifications (ISO 9001, 14001, 18001, and 45001), further solidifying her reputation as a trusted advisor in the industry.
